Mayuko Ishigami(Violin)

Japanese violinist Mayuko Ishigami began playing the violin at age five. Her extraordinary talent was recognized early and at age eight she was invited to perform at the International Music Festival in Rome, Italy. She is now a top prize winner in many national and international competitions including 2nd Prize, the Audience Prize and the Nakamichi Award from the 77th National Music Competition of Japan.

She also received 1st Prizes at the Romanian International Music Competition, Czech Music Competition as well as other prizes from the Munetsugu Angel Competition and the 1st Bartok World Competition in Budapest in 2017.
She has performed as soloist with many of the leading orchestras in Japan including Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, City of Kyoto Symphony, Osaka Philharmonic, Osaka Sympony, Sendai and Kansai Philharmonic Orchestras, Tokyo City Philharmonic, as well as the Brasov National Philharmonic in Romania, and Camerata La Loingtaine in France, and others. Ms Ishigami has performed on concert series sponsored by NHK Radio as well as the Nova Recital Series, and Japanese national television NHK filmed a documentary about her and aired a live broadcast of her solo performance with the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra. She has performed chamber music or as soloist with musicians such as Augustin Dumay, James Ehnes, Heiichiro Ooyama, Aleksander Madzar and others.
Ms Ishigami studied violin with acclaimed Japanese violinist Yuko Mori, and in masterclasses with Jean-Pierre Wallez, Ivry Gitlis, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Aki Saulière, David Quiggle, and others. In addition to her musical studies and busy concert career, she graduated in 2017 from Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine with a Medical Degree.
She also released First Album "Janacek:violin sonata" in 2019 from Nippon Columnbia, which is Japanese major label, and the new album with Masato Suzuki, who is acclaimed musician as conductor, pianist, organist, harpsichord player, "Brahms:Sonata for piano and violin No.1" was released in June 2022 from Denon label(Nippon Columnbia).
