Mārtiņš Zilberts(Piano)

Comprehensive would be the perfect word to describe the career of Latvian pianist
Mārtiņš Zilberts (1977). He is principal accompanist for soloists at Latvian National Opera
since 2008. Docent at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian academy of music Chamber Ensemble and
Accompaniment Departments since 1999. Recognised as one of the leading chamber
music performers in Latvia, Mārtiņš was nominated for the Latvian Grand music award for
outstanding work in ensemble (2019).

He regularly performs with well known latvian
musicians and is founder of Latvian National Symphony orchestra piano trio. As soloist he
has performed with Latvian National Opera orchestra, Jelgava and Ventspils chamber
orchestras. Enamoured with vocal repertoire he has early on been a close companion to
a large number of vocal soloists, including world-known singers Elina Garanca, Egils Silins,
Inga Kalna, Kristine Opolais, Liene Kinca, Irene Theorin, Asmik Grigorian, Aleksandr
Antonenko.
Worked as leading accompanist on production of Richard Wagner’s The Ring cycle in
Latvian National Opera, conducted by Cornelius Meister (2013). Collaborated as
repetition pianist with Andris Nelsons, Mikhail Tatarnikov, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, Karel Mark
Chichon, Andris Poga and others. Mārtiņš received Latvian National Opera Foundation
annual award for outstanding performance in 2018. Mārtiņš Zilberts was born in Riga,
Latvia. Studied at Emīls Dārziņš Music School. Received batchelor's degree as soloist and
master's degree in chamber music at Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of music.
