Ivan Magrì(Tenor)

Born in Catania, Ivan Magri starts his vocal studies with Domenica Monti. In 2005, he graduates with honors at the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi in Milan under of Giovanna Canetti e Wilma Borelli, as well as receiving guidance of tenor Luciano Pavarotti. He is awarded prizes in international competitions such as the Riccardo Zandonai Competition and Francesco Maria Martini.

In 2006, he made his debut in the role of Ernesto in Don Pasquale, and in the following year, he debuted in L’Elisir d’amore in Udine and Pordenone. In 2008, he appeared in Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Carlo Felice under Daniel Oren; in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and at the Teatro Comunale of Ferrare, as well as being acclaimed as Fernando in Donizetti’s Marin Faliero at the Teatro Verdi di Sassari and Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo.

The following seasons, he sang Arturo in I Puritani in Bologna, Riga and Bratislava, il Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto in Como, Las Palmas, Bologna, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Torino, Estonia, Teatro di Bellini in Catania, Palau de las Artes di Valencia and Budapest, as well as in L’Elisir d’amore in Lima, Festival Donizetti di Bergamo, at the Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma; La Traviata at the Macerata Festival, at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, at the Palau de las Artes in Valencia and in Tel Aviv under Zubin Mehta. He also appears in prestigious houses such as the Florida Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, in Seoul and at the Staatoper Berlin.

A few highlights from the following seasons include Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra and I due Foscari in Valencia, Un giorno di regno at the Teatro Regio di Parma, I lombardi alla prima crociata in Piacenza, as well as Werther in Estonia; Mercante’s Virginia at the Festival di Wexford; Maria di Rudenz at the Festival Donizetti in Bergamo; Die lüstige Witwe at the Regio di Torino, as well as in Luisa Miller at the Opernhaus Zürich and in Hamburg. He sang Rigoletto in Rome and Firenze under Zubin Mehta and in Budapest; L’Elisir d’amore in Buenos Aires; La Bohème in Bari and La Traviata at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

Past engagements include L’Elisir d’amore at the Royal Opera House in London; La Traviata at Teatro La Fenice; Luisa Miller in Monaco; Lucia di lammermoor a Bari e Oslo; La Boheme in Houston and Sydney; Rigoletto in Savolinna, London, Minorca and Bari; Madama Butterfly in Stoccarda; I due Foscari a Monaco; Nabucco a Parma; Madama Butterfly a Vienna; La Traviata a Berlino. As well as Faust in Sydney Opera House, and La Traviata and Rigoletto in Madrid; La Traviata in Berlin and Naples, Turandot at the Puccini Opera Festival, and Luisa Miller at the Glyndebourne Opera Festival.

Among his future engagements are: TURANDOT in Lima, AIDA in Berlin, AMLETO in Verona, MADAMA BUTTERFLY at Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires.
