Ryosuke Moriyama is currently a cellist with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. He is also a member of Quartet Explloce, Zephyrus Piano Quintet, Triton Clear Sea Orchestra, Ishida Gumi, and Super Cellists.
He studied at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and received his M.A. from the same institution. Upon graduation from the university, he was awarded the Doseikai Prize. Received the 8th Viva Hall Cello Competition Special Prize (Inoue Prize). Received the Cultural Newcomer Award from the Toyota City Cultural Promotion Foundation. Studied abroad in Munich, Germany as an overseas trainee of the Afinis Cultural Foundation.
Studied under Akira Kubota, Ryoichi Hayashi, Toshiaki Hayashi, Hideki Kitamoto, Nobuko Yamazaki, and Yves Savary.
