Marceau Lefevre(Bassoon(Fagott))

Born in Avignon, Marceau Lefèvre studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris with Laurent Lefèvre and Fany Maselli, and at the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker with Stefan Schweigert.

Marceau has won prizes in numerous international competitions, including Hülsta woodwinds Münster, Aeolus Düsseldorf, Wiener Klassik Baden and Fmaji Paris.

As a fervent advocate of the solo repertoire for his instrument, Marceau regularly appears as soloist with orchestras such as the Brussels Philharmonic, the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, the Kölner Kammerorchester, the Bayer-Philharmoniker, the Novosibirsk Philharmonic, the Orchestre Pasdeloup, the Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz and the North Czech Orchestra Teplice.

Marceau frequently appears as guest principal bassoon with leading orchestras such as the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest Amsterdam, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre national de France, the Hallé orchestra in Manchester and many others.

He recorded his first CD "Arundo" with the pianist Kimiko Imani for "GWK Record" in 2015, which was very well received by critics.

Marceau is a much sought-after chamber musician, regular invited by French and international festivals. He is also a member of the Akébia wind quintet, the Carousel Ensemble and the Breeze wind quintet.

From 2017 to 2023, Marceau was principal bassoon of the Brussels Philharmonic, before becoming a soloist of the Ensemble intercontemporain in September 2023.
