Léo Warynski(Conductor and Choirmaster)

Léo Warynski's conducting style is described as “precise, sensitive and daring”. Open-minded and versatile, he conducts all repertoires with the same enthusiasm: opera, symphonic, contemporary and vocal music.

Léo Warynski trained as a conductor at the National Conservatoire of Paris and has since conducted a large number of orchestras in France and around the world.

He is a regular guest of the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of Normandie, the Ensemble intercontemporain and the Orchestra of Colombia. His love of the voice and opera has led him to conduct numerous opera productions, notably at the Opéra de Nice (Akhnaten, Orphée aux Enfers), the Opéra d'Avignon (Carmen, Three Lunar Seas) and the Académie de l'Opéra de Paris, with whom he appeared in Le Viol de Lucrèce by Benjamin Britten.

Recent engagements include concerts with the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, as well as opera productions at the Opéra de Toulon and the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires.

Léo Warynski is artistic director of the vocal ensemble Les Métaboles, which he founded in 2010. In 2014, he was appointed musical director of the Ensemble Multilatérale, an instrumental ensemble dedicated to creation.

In 2020, he was named Musical Personality of the Year by the Syndicat de la Critique.
