Damiana Mizzi(Soprano)

Italian soprano Damiana Mizzi began her musical training at the age of 8, studying piano. She graduated with honours at the Nino Rota Music Conservatory in Monopoli, under the guide of Maria Grazia Pani, and completing her studies with Amelia Felle andMariella Devia.
She participated in Master Classes with Natale De Carolis, Manuela Custer, Stefano Giannini, Domenico Colajanni, Alfonso Antoniozzi, Daniela Barcellona, and she attended the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro with Alberto Zedda. She followed classes at the Opera Studio in the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia of Rome with Renata Scotto, who says that

Finalist at Placido Domingo’s Operalia 2017, Damiana has won many International Lyric Contests, such as the 63rd Edition of the “As.Li.Co.”, the 10th Edition of the International “Ottavio Ziino” Competition and Extraordinary Prize at the International Singing Competition Francisco Viñas.

She made her debut very young in 2004 in the role of Rosina (“Il Barbiere di Siviglia” by G. Paisiello), followed by many other roles in several opera houses in Italy and abroad, such as Adina (L’Elisir d’amore, G. Donizetti), Despina (Così fan tutte, W. A. Mozart), Giulietta (I Capuleti e i Montecchi, V. Bellini), Nannetta (Falstaff, G. Verdi), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro, W. A. Mozart) Corinna (Il Viaggio a Reims, G. Rossini), Gilda (Rigoletto, G. Verdi) Elena (Il cappello di paglia, N. Rota), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi, G. Puccini), the title role in La piccola volpe astuta di L.Janáček, Musetta (La Bohème, G. She worked with several theatres and festivals both in Italy and abroad, such as Teatro alla Scala, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Acc. Naz. di S.Cecilia, Teatro La Fenice, Teatro San Carlo, Teatro Regio di Torino, Opera di Firenze, Teatro Regio di Parma, Ravenna Festival, Stresa Festival, ROF, Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Reate Festival, Teatri del Circuito Lirico Lombardo, Musikfest Bremen, Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo, Savonlinna Opera Festival, Royal Opera House Muscat, Theater Lübeck, Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, NCPA in Beijing, Shaanxi Grand Theatre in Xi’An, Chicago Simphony Orchestra.

Very active in the world of contemporary music, she performs regularly repertoire of the 20th and 21st centuries by important composers such as M. D’Amico , F. Pennisi, R. Vacca, and world premieres by L. Gregoretti, G. Guaccero and D.Carnini. She collaborated several times with Nuova Consonanza Festival in Rome.

She worked with important conductors, including Riccardo Muti, Kent Nagano, Bruno Campanella, Donato Renzetti, Riccardo Frizza, Lü Jia, Giampaolo Bisanti, Christophe Rousset, Andrea Battistoni, Roland Böer, Fabio Biondi, Daniel Smith, Marco Angius, Nicola Paszkowski, Luigi Piovano, Christian Capocaccia, Francesco Lanzillotta.
