She was a prize-winner of the Carl Flesch Competition in London and the Reine Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. In 1972, Ana Chumachenco founded the Munich string trio, which quickly gained international fame. With this ensemble as well as a soloist with various orchestras she undertook worldwide concert tours. In addition, she was Artistic Director of the Camerata Bern. In 1978, Ana Chumachenco received a guest professorship at the Menuhin Academy in Gstaad, which she held for ten years. Since then she has held a professorship at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich and regularly gives masterclasses. From this educational work, several international award winners have emerged – many of their students are now internationally known soloists. Among the most prominent graduates of their class are Lisa Batiashvili, Julia Fischer, Arabella Steinbacher or Veronika Eberle.
