Adriana Gonzalez(Soprano)

First Prize & Zarzuela Prize at the Operalia Competition 2019, appreciated for her beautiful lyrical voice and remarkable musicality, the Franco-Guatemalan soprano Adriana Gonzalez is
one of the most promising singers of her generation.
Born in Guatemala, Adriana Gonzalez won the New Upcoming Artist Award and graduated from the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala in 2012.

A member of the Atelier Lyrique de l'Opéra National de Paris, she received the 2017 Prix Lyrique from the Cercle Carpeaux for her outstanding artistic development. During the 2017/2018 season, she was a member of the IOS of the Zürich Opera.
She has won several prizes in various international competitions: First Prize at the "Otto Edelmann Competition" in Vienna, the Second Prize and the Audience Prize at the "Francisco Vinas Singing Competition" at the Liceu in Barcelona as well as the Teatro Real Prize in Madrid.
Her most notable roles include Micaëla (Carmen) which she has performed at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Frankfurt Opera, the Dutch National Opera, the Opéra National de Paris, the Opéra de Toulon and at the Liceu Barcelona. She has sung Liù (Turandot) at the Houston Grand Opera, Opéra de Toulon, Opéra National du Rhin, Opéra de Paris-Bastille, Liceu Barcelone, Staatsoper Hambourg, Staatsoper Berlin and Opéra de Dijon, Mimì (La Bohème) at Gran Teatre del Liceu, Opéra de Toulon and Deutsche Oper Berlin, Juliette (Roméo et Juliette) at the Houston Grand Opera, Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) at the Staatsoper Hambourg, as well as the Countess Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Opéra National de Lorraine, the Frankfurt Opera, Luxembourg, and recently at the Salzburger Festspiele, where she was the first Guatemalan to perform at this major festival. She has also performed the Verdi Requiem with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (cond. Fabio Luisi), in Lisbon (cond. Lorenzo Viotti) and in Oviedo (cond. Nuno Coelho), as well as Beethoven's 9th Symphony in Parma (cond. Fabio Luisi) and at the Boston Symphony Hall (cond. Raphaël Pichon). Her first recording, devoted to the songs of Robert Dussaut & Hélène Covatti, with Iñaki Encina Oyón at the piano, released in 2020 on Audax Records, was hailed by the critics: "Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik", Le Monde selection. She recorded the complete songs of Isaac Albéniz for Audax Records in 2021, and a French duet album with mezzosoprano Marina Viotti, released in November 2023.
Her projects for the 2024-25 season and beyond include : the title role in Suor Angelica in Copenhagen, Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) in Hamburg, Beethoven’s Missa solemnis (cond. Marek Janowski) at the Tokyo Spring Festival, Salud (La Vida breve) in Madrid, Micaëla (Carmen) in Lausanne and Madrid, Antonia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) in Zurich, Desdemona (Otello) at the Opéra National du Rhin, Contessa at the Wiener Staatsoper, as well as concerts with the Opéra de Toulon Orchestra in Toulon and at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées-Paris and a recital with Iñaki Encina Oyón in Tokyo.
