She has also been honoured with First Prize at the Warsaw Polish Art Song Competition and First Prize at the East & West Artists International Auditions in New York, leading to her debut performance at Carnegie Hall.

In the 2024/25 season, Iwona Sobotka commenced her engagements by performing Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with the esteemed conductor Riccardo Muti and the Orchestra National de France. Throughout the season, she will take on new roles such as Aida and Turandot at the Teatr Wielki in Poznań, Senta in Der Fliegende Holländer at the National Performing Arts Center in Taipei, Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera at the Slovak National Theatre, Gioconda at the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania, and Desdemona in Otello at The Teatro Coccia Novara. Additionally, she will reprise roles such as Madama Butterfly at the Wrocław Opera House, and Rusalka at the Grand Theatre in Poznań.
Alongside her operatic engagements, Sobotka’s plans for the season include numerous concerts and festival appearances. She will perform L. Janáček’s ‘Glagolitic Mass’ with the Czech Philharmonic under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, G. Verdi’s Requiem with the Warsaw Philharmonic and Philadelphia Orchestra, and G. Mahler’s Symphony of a Thousand with the Krakow Philharmonic. Her festival appearances will feature R. Strauss’s Four Last Songs at the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw, Szymanowski’s Songs of a Fairy-Tale Princess at the Eufonie Festival in Warsaw, and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival.
In the past season, Sobotka was a resident artist with the Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra, showcasing her versatility in four exceptional programs, presenting Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, and making her debut as Isolde in a concert rendition of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde. Beyond this, she also took on the role of featured soloist during the season inauguration concerts for both the Warsaw Philharmonic and the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, alongside other commitments. On the opera stage, Sobotka debuted in the roles of Manon Lescaut, Desdemona in Otello, and Leonora in Il Trovatore. Additionally, she reprised her acclaimed portrayals of Violetta Valéry in La Traviata and the title role of Dvořák’s masterpiece Rusalka, performing across Poland, Spain, Estonia, and Slovakia.

Notably, she portrayed Pamina in Barrie Kosky’s renowned production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute at Komische Oper Berlin, followed by an international tour across Australia, New Zealand, Macao, and Taiwan.
