Haydn “Die Jahreszeiten” Change of Conductor and Announcement of Casts
We would like to inform you of a change of conductor and the announcement of performers for Tokyo-HARUSAI Choral Works Series vol.14 Haydn “Die Jahreszeiten”.
The originally scheduled conductor, Ivor Bolton, is unfortunately unable to appear due to unavoidable circumstances. Ian Page will assume conducting duties in his place. We sincerely apologize for this change and kindly ask for your understanding.
Renowned as a specialist in the works of Mozart, a contemporary of Haydn, Ian Page is a UK-based conductor, and this performance marks his highly anticipated debut in Japan. Expectations are high for his collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in this performance of The Seasons, completed in 1801. The soloists include Mauro Peter, who appeared in last year’s Tokyo-HARUSAI Lieder Series and delivered an outstanding performance of Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin, as well as the acclaimed Tareq Nazmi, who also appears in Gurre-Lieder and Der fliegende Holländer. (The soprano is yet to be announced.) Do not miss this rare opportunity to experience a live performance of this masterpiece, which is seldom heard in concert.
